Building Cloud Networking & Security Team for A US Cyber Security Company
The client is a US-based cyber security company that provides a Cloud hosted security platform to prevent evasive threats targeted to the browser to various global customers across different verticals.
Client Strategy:
The client’s strategy was to expand their product team presence outside the US, in Bangalore, India. They wanted to launch themselves in the competitive market and announce their presence in India to support their Asia Pac and global market’s growing demands for new solutions & customer support. They explored options from acquisition to partnering to set up their own captive center in India.

The main concern of the client was to establish the right team with Cloud Networking/Security technology & product experience within budget. They wanted this team to be self-contained and have diverse experience in engineering, program management, release engineering, IT/support, customer success & professional services.
The Solution:
The client approached Nouveau Labs with these challenges and followed up with multiple calls to understand & evaluate the Nouveau Labs’ experience in Cloud, IP Networking & Security technology/product engineering. The client provided the high-level product requirements for the initial deliverable from the Nouveau Labs team.
The earlier experience of Nouveau Labs in Cloud, Networking & Security technologies, product development, and setting up teams from ground zero helped to address the client problem.
The boot-strap engineering team with experience in Cloud Networking & Security was set up with the team members from the Nouveau Lab to help understand the product requirements to generate a high-level approach & technical proposal to address the client concerns and deliver the initial product requirements of delivering VPN services for enabling the secure access to private applications.
The challenge was to ramp up the boot-strap team and hire additional team members with the right experience in the required product development & deployment domain.
The boot-strap team had to undergo technology training to understand the existing architecture of the client cloud platform over the conference calls. In addition to the technology training, the team had to learn the client program management and operation practices, which need to be applied to the local deliverables.
The hiring team of Nouveau Labs collaborated with the client and the boot-strap team to prepare the job descriptions for various positions and worked with the hiring partners to arrange the candidates for interviews with local and client teams.
Technology Used:
AWS Cloud managed service – DBs, S3 bucket, Security Manager, ECS & Lambda functions and other deployment tools.
Results:
Nouveau Labs successfully delivered and exceeded the client’s expectations in setting up the team and providing operational and management support during this journey. The client’s concern about setting up the right team in build-operate-transfer mode within the budget was successfully addressed. The local self-contained team ramped up further to take up the additional production requirements and support activities.
